The Sree Krishna Swami Temple dedicated to Parthasarathy is the one of the highly revered pilgrimages of Kerala. The village of Karumadi is famous for its Karumadi Kuttan, a 135 cm high black granite figure of Lord Buddha, believed to belong to the 9th or 10th century. The statue, now a protected monument, is housed in a make-believe "stupa".
